Structured training is a fundamental requirement, Spraying concrete relies heavily on the skills of the nozzleman and their team.
Using trained and certificated staff is crucial in maintaining the quality and consistency of the final product. The Nozzleman is vital to this process.
The Sprayed Concrete Association recommends a formal record keeping, training and certification scheme. Sprayed Concrete association members provide onsite training to their staff to ensure they develop the skills required to achieve the required levels of health and safety and effectiveness in all sprayed concrete operations.
Every member company registers their certificated operatives with the Association. Each is provided with an annual ID card confirming their level of certification. This ensures it is easy to check the competence of all operatives on site.
The SCA works alongside CSCS in developing suitable NVQ qualifications for sprayed concrete operatives.
