Shotcrete Services: Milton Keynes

In Case Study, Repair and Structures

After a number of failures of the slope underneath a road bridge, acontract was let to F J Morris by Milton Keynes Council to repair the revetment.

Shotcrete Services was employed to install a 125mm thick reinforced concrete slab over a consolidated sub-base. The steep angle of the slope required sprayed concrete to be applied in bays with movement joints.

The works were carried out expediently to ensure the road could be reopened to traffic

Key aspects:

  • Repair to Highway structures
  • Use of sprayed concrete where conventional concrete couldn’t be used
  • Reduced construction timescales due to road closure
  • Uniform finish
